the street sweeper
is no shopkeeper
he gets to keep nothing
as he sweeps away everything
doen`t even get to keep
a bit of dirt
hardly seen or recognised
just like the dirt he gets to sweep away
he goes about his work
like it was life itself
in song and dance
the street become an instant stage
but where is the audience
blind in self-importance
miss out on the magic
of the street sweeper
